In the beginning of our research we dare to assume, that travel and tourism is a complex of related spheres of business which serve travelling to those or otherwise. It is obvious, that the closest to tourism is work of tourist agencies, also airlines, railways, hotels, restaurants and many other things here are involved. All this group represents tourism infrastructure, or the tourist industry.

S.I.Bajlik defines as the tourist industry as set of the enterprises, establishments and the organizations of production of goods and the non-productive sphere, providing manufacture, distribution, an exchange and consumption of a tourist product, development and use of tourist resources, and creation of material base of tourism which includes following components:

The first - organizers of tourism - the tourist enterprises on development, promotion and realizations of a tourist product (tour operators and travel agents).

Tour operators carry out functions of organizers and founders of a complex product for group tourism, and the travel agent is the physical or legal person mediating on sale rounds generated by tour operator.

When the person travels, rest and accordingly a place where it is possible to spend the night - for this purpose is necessary to it and the following segment of the industry of tourism which the enterprises are, rendering services on accommodation (hotels, motels, boarding houses, rest houses, etc.) is necessary.

Accommodation takes the central place in a complex of the services, given to tourists during travel, and is an integral part of each round. Means of accommodation as which understand any object, it is regular or incidentally giving places for spending the night, make a basis of the tourist industry. This a component devotes our researches.

So has developed historically, that the first needs of the person is a lodging for the night and a feed, therefore the industry of tourism includes also the enterprises, rendering services on satisfaction of needs of tourists in food.

For turistkoi the industries are characteristic such types of the enterprises of a feed, as restaurant, cafe, a bar. At catering services of tourists various methods of service are used.

The major element turistkoi infrastructures which enters into the basic complex of the services included in structure of a tourist product, is transport maintenance.

Transport agencies include: avto-and the aviation enterprises, railway departments, the enterprises of river and sea transport, etc. Applied to the purposes of tourism transport is classified on three kinds: overland, water, air.

Easier to spend the night, eat and move on transport - it is not interesting. We dare to approve, that for today as in other and earlier, people wish to learn more about other countries, and for this purpose there was a branch in turindustrii - excursion activity.

Excursion activity will organize and renders the services satisfying needs of the person in familiarizing with spiritual and moral values, on accumulation of knowledge, including professional, in a mode of a free choice of objects, methods and means of knowledge.

That except for all above listed the person wishes to satisfy the spiritual needs is important also, to have a good time, and consequently tourism does not represent itself without show business.

The enterprises of sphere of leisure and entertainments include thematic parks, film-concert halls, clubs on interests, halls of slot machines, etc.

The resulted list is far not full. In the industry of tourism also include trading enterprises (shops on realization of tourist equipment and souvenirs), controls tourism (official bodies, the public tourist organizations), educational, scientific, design establishments, banks, the insurance companies, medical and medical institutions, the organizations of communication and many other things.

Proceeding from these preconditions, the federal law «About bases of tourist activity in the Russian Federation» defines the tourist industry as «set of hotels and other means of accommodation, automobiles, objects of public catering, objects of cognitive, business, improving, sports and other purpose, the organizations which are carrying out tourist and activity, and also the organizations, rendering excursion services and services of guides-translators.

Having allocated the basic making industries of tourism, in more detail we shall stop at the enterprises, rendering services of accommodation, that is the hotel industry as we consider, that the sphere of hospitality is the leading factor and base of tourism which in our opinion by the right name «the hen bearing gold eggs».
